Pilates Performance is a Host Location for
Body
Arts and Science International™ (BASI™)
Amit Younger is a BASI™ Faculty Member and is the only Teacher
Trainer in the UK to offer their educational programs and pilates
certification.
The BASI™ Teacher Training Courses are offered around the
world in different formats, all based on the same modules. In the
UK Amit offers the Mat TTC and the Equipment TTC in the following
formats:
Mat Teacher Training Course
Offered as ten intensive days (50 hours) of lectures, spread over
a period of about five months. During this time students are required
to practice the Mat exercises continuously and learn how to analyze
them according to the BASI™ Method. Students will be given
Home assignments that encourage further thinking in regards to the
applied anatomy, theory and methodology learned in the course. Students
are also offered workshops to deepen their understanding of the
exercises and their applications and to practice their teaching
skills.
During and right after the course students will be required to pass
three exams- Anatomy, Practical (demonstration of exercises) and
Theory.
Following a period of Observation and Student Teaching the students
have to successfully pass a Teaching Evaluation exam, which entitles
them to the
BASI™ Mat Certification.
Comprehensive Teacher Training Course
Offered as fourteen intensive days (70 hours) of lectures, spread
over a period of about six months. The equipment course concentrates
on the Pilates Apparatus and includes more advanced applied anatomy
lectures and the BASI™ Block System. Workshops to deepen the
understanding of the exercises and their applications and to practice
teaching skills are offered throughout the course.
Similar to the Mat TTC, throughout the course students are required
to learn, practice and imprint the exercises in their bodies. Home
assignments follow the modules to challenge knowledge and encourage
further research. Observing and assisting a BASI™ teacher
during and after the course is an integral part of the process and
is essential to fully understand the extensive repertoire and unique
BASI™ methodology.
During and right after the course students will be required to pass
three exams- Mid-Term, Practical (demonstration of exercises), and
Final Theory.
Following a period of Observation and Assisting a BASI™ teacher,
the students have to successfully pass a Teaching Evaluation exam,
which entitles them to the BASI™ Comprehensive Pilates certification.
Please notice- successful completion of the Mat TTC is a prerequisite
to the
Equipment TTC.
